Professional Event Photography at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre

Photographer at Large was engaged to photograph the QUT Business Leaders’ Forum on 15 September at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC), featuring Erica Berchtold, CEO of David Jones, in conversation with award-winning journalist and broadcaster Ellen Fanning.

Presented by Queensland University of Technology (QUT), the Business Leaders’ Forum is one of Brisbane’s established business and leadership event series, bringing prominent national and international leaders together with Brisbane’s business community. For this Forum, Erica Berchtold shared insights from her leadership career and her experience leading the transformation of one of Australia’s most recognised retail brands, with the conversation exploring leadership, retail transformation, digital innovation, commercial performance and changing customer expectations.

Held in the Plaza Terrace Room at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, the main Forum brought together business leaders, senior executives and professionals for the on-stage conversation, audience Q&A and professional networking.

From VIP and Media Wall Photography to the Main Forum

Our photography coverage began before the main program, with professional media wall portraits of guests on arrival, followed by coverage of an exclusive VIP pre-event function in the Gallery.

As guests moved into the Plaza Terrace Room, our coverage expanded to document the complete Business Leaders’ Forum experience. This included Erica Berchtold and Ellen Fanning on stage, presentations and discussions, audience reactions and engagement, QUT event branding, guests networking, wider room and event atmosphere, and the key interactions taking place throughout the Forum.

The result was a comprehensive collection of event photos documenting not only the speakers and formal program, but also the people, professional connections and atmosphere that form an important part of the QUT Business Leaders’ Forum experience.

Onsite Express Editing and Real-Time Photo Delivery

A key component of this project was the need for high-quality event photos while the event was still underway.

Alongside the photography coverage, Photographer at Large provided onsite express photo editing and rapid delivery of selected highlight images for immediate QUT media use. An instant online professional gallery was also created and populated with event photos ready for QUT to share with guests in real time.

For corporate events, conferences and business forums with immediate media, communications or social content requirements, this type of fast-turnaround workflow provides event organisers with professionally edited photography when it has the greatest relevance — during and immediately following the event — while comprehensive photography coverage continues onsite.
